origins

kenny & khan architects pc was founded by Rolando Kenny, AIA and Khalida Khan Erkin, AIA, LEED AP in 2002. The firm is located in New York City’s historic Flat Iron District.

practice

Our practice encompasses a broad and diverse portfolio: we have designed over a hundred projects ranging from an elephant shelter addition at the Bronx Zoo to the development of a trapeze school on a Hudson River pier, and have extensive experience with urban renewal projects, state-of-the-art educational facilities, and alterations and renovations of numerous public works. Simplicity of design and quality of service form the cornerstone of our practice.

philosophy

Long after the architect and the builder have finished their work and departed, it is the space and its users that remain. And whether the structure is ambitious or modest, the design innovative or traditional, we believe that a crucial objective of architecture is that the space must satisfy its occupants.

At kenny & khan, we strive to keep the big picture foremost. We consider a building that pleases the user to be a success, whether it is an elephant in his shelter or a student in her classroom. It is therefore a principle of our firm that even the most apparently simple structure merits the same care and attention as a high-profile landmark.
